Domaine Pierre-Henri Rougeot
Meursault, Burgundy
The Rougeot family has been established in Meursault for several generations and their estate has gradually developed to reach around thirteen hectares today. The vineyard is spread across Meursault, Monthélie, Saint-Romain, Pommard, and Volnay, with a majority of Chardonnay but also a significant portion of Pinot Noir. Pierre-Henri Rougeot began participating in the family winemaking in 2010, then created a micro-negotiation business in 2017 that allows him to work with other Burgundy terroirs. He then joined the family estate full-time and gradually took over its management from 2019.
The vineyard has been committed to organic farming for several years and then to biodynamics. The heritage includes Meursault village, the first growth Charmes, Volnay, Pommard, and Saint-Romain, along with the cuvées from his negotiation. The aging processes are generally long, and new wood is used judiciously, particularly for the whites. Pierre-Henri thus seeks to precisely distinguish each of the climates he works with, whether they come from the family vineyard or his negotiation activity.
