Domaine Pierre Boisson
Meursault, Burgundy
Based in Meursault, Pierre Boisson is the son of Bernard Boisson, a historical figure of the Domaine Boisson-Vadot. He gradually joined the family business and took charge of the vinifications from the 2000s, while developing a production under his own name. The Domaine Pierre Boisson represents approximately 3.5 hectares. His vineyards are mainly located around Meursault and several villages of the Côte de Beaune, including the highly sought-after lieu-dit Les Grands Charrons, as well as plots in Auxey-Duresses and Monthélie. Chardonnay and pinot noir are worked there according to methods inherited from the previous generation, with soil ploughing and no chemical fertilizers.
In the cellar, Pierre favours long aging, generally in barrels that have already held several wines, so that the wood does not dominate the material. The wines thus remain in the cellar for a long time before bottling. This patience, combined with particular attention to ripeness and balance, has gradually made Pierre Boisson one of the most sought-after producers of his generation in Meursault.
