Domaine du Bouchot

Pouilly-Fumé, Loire Valley

Located at Saint-Andelain, on one of the historic hills of Pouilly-Fumé, Domaine du Bouchot has 10 hectares of vines. The vineyard was created in the 1980s by Pascal Kerbiquet, who very early on committed the estate to organic farming, with certification obtained in 2009.

Antoine Gouffier gradually took over the property from 2018, after spending about twelve years in the United States, Argentina, Africa, and the Middle East, in various wine-related jobs. He worked for more than a year alongside Pascal Kerbiquet before fully taking over the management of the estate. The vineyard mainly rests on two major geological formations of Pouilly, the Kimmeridgian marls of Terres Blanches and the Portlandian limestones, locally called “caillottes”. Sauvignon blanc overwhelmingly dominates the grape varieties, with also a small plot of chasselas. Some vines, notably those of the cuvée MCMLV, were planted as early as 1955. The estate is now certified in organic farming and biodynamics.
