Domaine Chevillard
Savoie
Created by Matthieu Goury in 2013, Domaine Chevillard is located in Saint-Pierre-d’Albigny, in the heart of the Combe de Savoie. Coming from a family of winemakers, Matthieu is gradually reconstructing a domain from family plots and new acquisitions, after gaining experience in Savoie, Canada, and Australia. He is currently working with Guillemette Renard.
The estate represents about a dozen hectares spread over numerous plots between Saint-Pierre-d’Albigny, Saint-Jean-de-la-Porte, and several neighbouring villages. The geological diversity is significant, with limestone, marl-limestone, and clay-limestone soils backed by the Bauges massif. The estate works with several emblematic grape varieties of Savoie, including mondeuse, altesse, jacquère, and mondeuse blanche, as well as pinot noir. The harvests are carried out manually. The wines often benefit from extended aging in large casks or barrels, allowing the different plots and alpine grape varieties to fully develop their character.
The estate is now certified in organic farming and biodynamics.
