Domaine Alauda
Muscadet Sèvre-et-Maine, Loire Valley

Founded in 2023, Domaine Alauda was born with a specific ambition: to showcase the diversity of the great terroirs of Muscadet through a unique grape variety, Melon de B. The vineyard now covers more than 43 hectares, spread across the eastern arc of Muscadet, particularly in Mouzillon, Vallet, Gorges, and Clisson. More than twenty plots have been identified to work separately with very different soils, gabbros, blue and brown schists, granites, quartz, or sandy clays. The estate is committed to organic farming.
In 2025, Laurent Vallet, originally from Vallet, joined the estate after nearly twenty years spent at Château Ausone, where he notably supported the vineyards in their transition to organic farming and biodynamics. In the cellar, the wines benefit from long aging in different containers, buried glass tanks, stainless steel, concrete, large casks, or demi-muids, chosen according to each terroir. The ambition is to build a parcel-based and gastronomic interpretation of Muscadet, which can also stand the test of time.
